Suture, Plain Gut 6-0 1X18 G-1 Double Armed is an absorbable, sterile surgical suture derived from purified connective tissue (mostly collagen) of healthy bovine serosa. It is intended for use in soft tissue approximation, especially where rapid absorption of the suture is desired. The 6-0 gauge and double-armed configuration make it suitable for delicate, fine-tissue procedures.

Plain gut sutures provide high initial tensile strength, which supports tissue approximation during the early phases of wound healing. Absorption begins with enzymatic degradation and is usually complete within 70 days. Because it is a natural material, plain gut exhibits variable absorption rates depending on the tissue environment, but it generally ensures consistent performance in mucosal or rapidly healing tissues.

The G-1 needles attached are reverse cutting and double-armed, optimized for penetration of dense or keratinized tissues such as skin. A non-reflective finish on the needles enhances visibility under intense surgical lighting, ensuring precise needle placement during delicate procedures.
